The ultimate idea is to spend quality time together and have fun. In today’s day and age, when everyone is so busy, it is important to break the routine and do something different at least on one day to keep the spark alive! I have listed some unconventional, unique and interesting ways of celebrating Valentine’s day. These range from romantic to adventure to amusing and entertaining ideas! I am sure you will find something you’d love to do with your Valentine! And, the best thing is that you could use these as date ideas all year round to just have a good time whenever life gets a little boring!
Unconventional and fun ways to spend Valentine’s Day this year –
Movie at a drive-in –
Do something different and take him to watch a movie at a drive-in theatre. If you both enjoy watching movies, this would be really fun. It’s a whole new experience and fun. Pack some fast food snacks like potato chips, etc. and carry your own booze too. Watching a movie sitting in the open while the sun sets above you. Could it get any more romantic than this?
Breakfast in bed –
It may sound very simple but there is nothing like eating an elaborate breakfast while still being in bed. It just takes pampering to a whole new level. Cook up his favorite breakfast, some hot coffee, and freshly squeezed juice and spoil him by serving breakfast in bed. The presentation would make it look extra special. Add a fresh flower and a personalized card for a romantic touch.
Wine tasting tour –
What could be more romantic than a day at a vineyard with your man, sipping some of the best wines? Wine tours are one of the best ways to spend Valentine’s Day together. A lot of vineyards offer wine tasting classes, theatre with wine and cheese nights, spa and even a stay. Depending on your budget, choose what you want to do and you could turn Valentine’s Day into a romantic getaway too!
Macaron Making Class –
Believe it or not, baking is really fun when done in a team, with your man! And, what can be more romantic than macarons, the most delicate, delicious and pretty looking dessert? Opt for a macaron making class and have fun making these tiny desserts from scratch. You both will make amazing memories and get to eat your own handmade macarons.
Go Laser Tagging –
You remember the episode from How I Met Your Mother where Barney and Robin go play laser tag? Oh, yes. What a great way to know that you are compatible, on the same team, strengthen your bond, and have fun at the same time? There are a lot of laser tag arenas that host games especially for couples on Valentine’s Day. It would be a good idea to book your spot soon!
Painting Class –
Have a painting date night on Valentine’s date. If you are the creative types, this romantic, unique and interesting idea is just for you. The best is that these painting dates don’t need an art experience. Apart from the painting class, most galleries do a wine and cheese night too which makes it a complete package! And, you can relive those wonderful moments through the painting you make even after many years.
City Tour – on a Segway –
Often times, the one place we forget to explore is our own city. So go on a city tour this Valentine’s day with your partner. But, do it with a twist! Get on a Segway. There are a lot of Segway tours being operated in most cities that you can book for two. It’s fun and adventurous and will give you two some quality time to spend together! If you aren’t much of a Segway person, you could opt for a cycle tour too.
Of course, you could tweak these ideas to suit your comfort. But, I am sure these ideas are going to make your Valentine’s Day a memorable one. Remember to plan ahead because you don’t want to be late and find that the tickets to your movie or seat to the painting class are already sold out. Make reservations and confirm them beforehand.
Also, don’t forget to keep in mind the likes and dislikes of your partner while planning the day. You don’t want them to feel bored or out-of-place. They should enjoy it as much as the hard work you put into it! In the end, what matters is that you get to spend Valentine’s day with the person you love. Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day!
